Professor Karl Elling Ellingsen, PhD, the director of NAKU, is organizing a half-day Skills System conference in Trondheim, Norway on September 26, 2017 at 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Karl is a well-known scholar who examines the dangers of and alternatives to using restrictive procedures with individuals with ID/MH. Dr. Brown will be presenting the Skills System model and engaging with service providers that about how to help individuals with ID improve their intrinsic functioning capacities. It is exciting to work collaboratively with our world partners to explore interventions, implementation strategies, and research projects designed to help individuals with dual-diagnosis and challenging behaviors to improve their quality of life and ability to reach personal goals.
